I’ve been doing a lot of mini watercolor paintings this week, to get used to the medium. I still have issues with controlling how the paint flows, especially when doing the wet on wet technique but I think I’m slowly getting the hang of it? It is lovely watching the color bloom in unexpected patches and intersperse on the paper.

I haven’t been in the mood to step in front of the camera and I have a feeling it’ll be like that for quite some time. For now, art has been my sole outlet. Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of transitioning Alice in Muse into an art blog, haha. I do enjoy art a lot more than posing and stepping in front of a camera…

I used my new Daniel Smith watercolors which I absolutely adore!! They’re so beautiful and pigmented, with a color palette just up my alley. I used micron pens to trace a light outline and white calligraphy ink for some of the highlights in the hair.

Now that I’m looking at this again, I kind of wish I used a dark purple for the brows but I’m not too mad about the sap green either haha.

Thanks for dropping by, Anna Jo, and for your sweet comment. Watercolor is slowly becoming my go-to medium for that very reason. Hope to see your watercolor work in the near future 🙂
